About Us
Our lab studies biomolecular systems mainly using solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) spectroscopy. We develop new SSNMR methods that probe 3D structure and conformation, chemical reactivity and reaction mechanisms in the active site of enzymes, and conformational dynamics including allosteric response. SSNMR methods yield insights especially for proteins in the solid or semi-solid phase — i.e. molecules that do not freely tumble — such as membrane proteins in liposomes, amyloids and high-order oligomeric proteins, whole viruses and proteins in the context of cells.
