Anish is a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry at Columbia. Prior to this, he was an undergraduate at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, working on 19F NMR-based characterizations of fold switching proteins. In the McDermott lab, Anish is investigating the inactivation mechanism of the potassium ion channel, KcsA, in lipid bilayers from structural and dynamic viewpoints. Outside of the lab Anish likes to read, learn new languages and explore classical music.
